I confess, I love a good mooch round a craft fair, but in my experience, they can vary somewhat in quality. Some are just the usual tat. You know the sort of thing – crocheted toilet roll covers, over-dangly Pat Butcher-type craft-kit ear rings, Christmas themed letter openers and hand-made soaps that smell like car fresheners.. Then there some, like the Keep Calm and Craft On craft fair which are just a delight of originally designed desirables. Apart from the gorgeous Sloan Design cake stands, there were all manner of other exciting potential purchases. There was an eye-poppingly colourful display from the wonderful world of Sweetly Wrapped, where the wrappers of old become the products of new. The talented folk craft discarded sweet wrappers, crisp packets and old comics into high quality vinyl to make wallets, purses and book covers. They will make a you bespoke item out of a packet or comic of your choice and even their wrapping paper is recycled.Check out www.sweetlywrapped.co.uk for more divine up-cycled products.
