Stay at the INNSiDE Newcastle

The newest lifestyle hotel in Newcastle, the INNSiDE, is nestled right on the quayside with a great view out over the river and our famous bridges. It features contemporary, bright, spacious rooms with modern technology and design to provide all the comforts of home during your stay. With tons of natural light, many of the rooms have spectacular views of the River Tyne.

The studio room

The rooms have different prices from a standard room, to a studio room, a balcony room and even an amazing Townhouse option. All rooms feature super comfortable mattresses, rain showers and funky retro phones. The hotel is only 20 minutes from Newcastle airport and less than half a mile from the central rail station. Slap bang on the river, the location is ideal for easy access to Newcastle City centre and quayside with its vibrant shopping, culture, bar and restaurant scene.

Lobby lighting

Unique at the INNSiDE

The hotel has worked with local designers to bring in design touches unique to Newcastle. Features from the  iron work on the bridge structures are included in the lobby. There is also a huge black and white ‘Whey Eye’ mural on the wall, celebrating all things Newcastle. The spiral staircase and the suspended open filament lamps lend a very European air to the open and airy entrance.

The restaurant

The hotel is also equipped as a business hotel as well as a leisure one, a ‘bleisure’ hotel in fact. There are state of the art conference and meeting rooms available for any size of gathering. The ‘Big Ideas’ room is kitted out with lots of creative games and gadgets to help inspire any brainstorming session. There is also a well equipped fitness room for the health conscious visitor.

Townhouse Suite

At the top of the hotel with the very best view out over to the bridges is the 50m2 Townhouse Suite. These luxurious suites offer more space to relax and unwind. They feature floor-to-ceiling windows, a king-size bed, separate living space with a sofa-bed and a stylish bathroom featuring rain shower, separate bath and sustainable bathroom products.

In the restaurant

The corner suite looks out over the Tyne Bridge and the High Level bridge and is already booked for New Year’s Eve. It will give a fantastic view of the annual fireworks display which takes place on the quayside right opposite the hotel.

As a new hotel on the block there are some promotional rates on offer right now so check them out on the website.

Gino D’acampo restaurant

This is the second restaurant in partnership with hotel giant Melia, Gino D’Acampo Quayside.

It’s a beautiful light, open plan restaurant with floor to ceiling windows that lets the natural light flood in. It’s a real mood booster. There is also a huge contemporary outside terrace overlooking the river for dining al fresco.

Serving real Italian food as it should be, the menu really does have something for everyone. The lounge bar serves one of the biggest selections of Prosecco, sparkling wine and Franciacorta in the UK, with over 30 varieties to choose from.

The restaurant has a wall with lots of Gino pictures in evidence. The menu features  a wide variety of favourite Italian dishes. They all have explanations from Gino as to why they are special to him or how he makes them himself.

I had arancine (rice) balls, followed by lobster linguine and then a huge slab of deliciously creamy Tiramisu. Having lived in Italy myself I know a good Tiramisu when I taste one. This was most definitely a good one! I accompanied this with a traditional Aperol Spritz, another Italian favourite. My companion confirmed that the Calamari was excellent too.

Breakfast is buffet style with all the usual choices of pastries, yoghurt, breads, fruit or full English, all served in the Riverside restaurant.
