I return to possibly my favourite destination in the world. Rancho Las Cascadas is a luxury riding ranch 7,000 feet up in the Sierra Madre mountains, and more than 5000 miles away from the UK. The weather in January is perfect for riding here. The sun climbs high into the sky in the middle of the day and can be pretty hot but it cools down quickly in the evenings.
A western style ranch in the forests of Poland is an unexpected discovery. Situated near the city of Katowice, and less than two hours drive North of Krakow, you could be forgiven for thinking you had somehow been transported to a US stateside ranch.
2,800 feet up the Sierra Madre Mountains, away from the traffic of Mexico City, is the most idyllic horse riding ranch and luxury hotel I have ever visited. It is the beautiful La Rancho Las Cascadas or ‘ranch of the waterfalls.’

Tombstone Monument Ranch is one of a kind. The accommodation is a replica of the main street of a Wild West town just two miles out of Tombstone itself. Opened in 2010 it now belongs to a consortium including the True family who own the White stallion ranch in Tucson.
