NH Hotel Group
The NH Hotel group is a Spanish multinational hotel company. They operate 350 hotels in 35 countries and the NH Collection is their first hotel in the buzzing metropolis of Dubai in the UAE. This beautiful brand new hotel, situated in the middle of the Palm Jumeirah, has just celebrated its first birthday. The NH Collection group strap line is ‘outstanding stays in exceptional locations’ and this lovely hotel in the beating heart of Dubai certainly qualifies for this description.
Its ambience is modern, contemporary and fun, and was certainly extremely popular when I visited in January. There are several restaurants to choose from in the hotel including Majora, Seven Sports bar and Seen. I enjoyed some delicious organic salmon and a good white wine in the Revo cafe overlooking the bay of Dubai on my first night there.
On the second night I enjoyed a meal at the rooftop View 180 restaurant. This is an Asian Fusion experience with an incredible view out over the landscape of Dubai. The rooftop is where you will find the infinity pool with a panoramic view out across the bay.

New Hotel Dubai – the rooms
I stayed in a club suite which was sheer luxury. A huge gorgeous bathroom complete with giant bath and a separate lounge with a huge couch to relax on. There was not one, but two gigantic TV screens, one in the living room and another in the bedroom. A well equipped gym for those wishing to maintain the body beautiful is available. I did treat myself to an excellent massage in the Soul Senses Spa which I can highly recommend.

The hotel has 227 guest rooms and suites and it also boasts 305 serviced apartments for those wanting to be based in Dubai for some time. These obviously have more space and are ideal for business trips, ‘working from home,’ or family holidays
The hotel has a lively, family friendly feel, and is in a prime spot for exploring the famous sites of Dubai including the Burj Khalifa, the Dubai Mall and Dubai Marina. Located on exclusive Palm West Beach, the hotel is also close to the nearby Nakheel Mall and the largest fountain in the world, the Palm Fountain at The Pointe. Direct beach access is available if sunbathing is your thing, and there is plenty of sun to go around here.

Sustainability at the NH Collection
Sustainability is taken seriously at this new Dubai hotel. It’s credentials are impeccable.
The vegan friendly rooms feature pillows, duvets and mattress toppers made from sustainable materials. All the bathroom products are completely free from animal derived ingredients and are never tested on animals. Amenities have cardboard packaging and are completely bio degradable. Recycling and repurposing of cans, glasses plastic and paper are rigorously carried out by the staff here. In the bathroom you will find all packaging compostable, recyclable and free from pollutants. Products are from The Vanity Group and Urban Skincare Backstreet.

The hotel itself has its own onsite glass bottling plant and the integration of AC condensation into irrigation systems, so important in such a hot climate. Also installed are energy efficient room and building management systems together with an onsite food digester for food and beverage leftovers, reducing waste. Straws are sugar cane not plastic and cleaning chemicals are eco friendly. Single use plastic alternatives such as bamboo flasks and organic cotton bags are in evidence too.

More about the new Dubai hotel – NH collection
Dubai has a very hot climate. It has to import many of its supplies to cater for its 7.12 million plus visitors. The city is actually on track to be the most visited city on earth with plans afoot to reach the 25 million visitor mark. The fact that the NH Collection hotel has made an effort to ensure the quality of their food they offer is notable. Premium ingredients are sourced from locally farmed free range and organic suppliers. The salmon I had was organic and delicious and the accompanying salad fresh and tasty. Even the wine was pretty good but don’t expect any cut price alcohol!
This is a fresh friendly new Dubai hotel. Children up to 11 years of age stay free of charge. This applies to a maximum of two children per room. New attractions include the Museum of the Future and the Ain Dubai or Dubai eye which is the world’s largest observation wheel. The pods can be rented out for parties or events. I must mention the fact that in my suite was a complete model of the exterior of the hotel – cast in chocolate. This is my kind of welcome and I did my best to demolish as much of it as I could! Dubai always has to do it bigger and better. Book the NH Collection Hotel
