Vikings in Sweden 2023
Vikings have captured the imaginations of all ages for centuries and even more so with TV series and films like Vikings and The Northman. I travel to Sweden to discover the truth about the Vikings and how they lived.
From France to Spain, to Greece, to Portugal, Italy and more. Europe is the most fascinating of continents. Explore the adventures of eccentric England across the very best of Western and Northern Europe. Europe is a complex and varied continent and considered the birth place of civilisation. It is the second smallest of the world’s continents and is bordered on the West by the Atlantic Ocean and on the South by the Mediterranean sea. There are 44 sovereign nations in Europe.- including some of our favourite holiday destinations. It has multiple islands and archipelagos to its name including the Baleriac islands Corsica, Sardinia, Sicily, Malta. Madeira, Crete and Cyprus. Not forgetting our very own British Isles! France, Spain, Italy and Portugal are among the Brits most popular countries for holidays but there is lots more to this cultural smorgasbord!

The Peloponnese is a Southern Greek peninsula and the most popular region of the Greek mainland in terms of tourism. Three hours drive from Athens; it is a beautiful, mountainous and surprisingly green part of this delightful country. It hosts many important archaeological sites, charming villages and seaside resorts. Hiking is a popular activity here but there are other attractions too.

Best things about Fuerteventura
There is more to this island than meets the eye. The climate is possibly its most outstanding feature. There are more than 300 days of sunshine with very little rain which differs from the other Canary Islands.

Stunning Slovakia, covered in forests and castles is now reviving its own native cultural assets and welcoming tourists to enjoy what’s on offer!

My holiday continued in delightful Kalkan on the Turkish coast. One of the things you can do from here is a day trip to Greece. Two countries in one trip, let’s go!
We hopped on the dolmus bus from our nearby bus station, to the larger port town of Kas. From there you can catch the ferry before 10am across to the Greek Island of Kastellorizo.

Kalkan is a sophisticated historic town, clustered around a beautiful harbour on the turquoise coast of Turkey. At the foot of the Taurus Mountains, it retains some fine examples of Ottoman architecture and a delightful cultural authenticity. It is also a 10/10 place to have a holiday!
