It was a bit of a miserable day for the first of May 2014. However, if you let the British weather stop you from doing things here in the UK, you could easily turn into a root vegetable or a pot plant.
Eccentric England is at the every heart of my blog. Springtime at Chillingham Castle
I first visit Chillingham Castle in blazing month of June. Despite the fields being filled with glorious summer poppies, it was rainy and chilly both outside and in. Things were to prove not much different when I return for a second time in April. This is North Northumberland.

It was the ninth Alnwick Food Festival. A market place bustling, and full of stalls selling fresh local produce is a real treat. Celebrity chef Jean Christophe Novelli was there putting the passion into cooking, with his live demonstrations.
Blenheim Horse Trials
Blenheim International Horse Trials isn’t just about horses, oh no, it’s also about people watching and most noticably dog watching! Where there are horses there are inevitably canine companions, but for the thousands of spectators who don’t have an expensive four legged athlete in the game they can still bring something a little more affordable to the party.
