The Whitley Bay Film Festival (WBFF) is back!! After three tumultuous years which included a worldwide pandemic, loss of funding and the death of a monarch, the intrepid team have got our favourite local film festival back up and running!
Canal boating holiday for beginners
I have had the pleasure of a canal boat trip twice before, but they have always been a fairly relaxed affair. My route criteria had been as few locks as possible, juxtaposed with as many pubs as possible along the way. My latest adventure however, was to take another turn.
The newest lifestyle hotel in Newcastle, the Melia Innside, is nestled right on the quayside with a great view out over the river and the famous bridges of the River Tyne.
A brisk walk along the beach from Seaton Sluice to Blyth is about 3 1/2 miles. An hours walk each way at a brisk pace. It is a gorgeous golden sandy beach and is becoming increasingly popular as the beaches further own the coast are getting a bit crowded.
Lindisfarne was my very first festival and I was not sure what to expect. The setting is Beal Farm overlooking the causeway and the magical Holy Island
Alum House, is a delightful oasis of a bed and breakfast. Perched on a cliff top, right on the Cleveland Way.
